The Attack
THE ATTACK
The moon gave way for the sun,
The latter had tired from its night duty,
Light announced a new day had begun,
Bestowing upon the land beauty,
Another opportunity presented itself,
For the bird to finish its nest,
For man to refill his shelf,
Each embarking on some quest,
Everything seemed perfect,
Until the minions arrived,
So discreet nobody would suspect,
Watching their victims where they hived,
Then the rain started,
Not of water-drops from the sky,
But of bullets from termination gadgets,
Cascading everywhere within eye-sight,
The green-land turned crimson,
Vultures had more than a month's feast,
Without rhyme or reason,
A waste was made of lives by a beast,
Mothers wailed for their children,
Children had been rendered fatherless,
For nothing could console them,
As they watched their future being destroyed under duress.
